Best espresso in Vancouver BC
Similar to Vivace in Seattle in their extreme focus on every aspect of a great cup of espresso, from grind and pour to coffee art and decor, Cafe Artigiano is my current favorite cafe in Vancouver BC.
Both places subscribe to the idea that milk should be steamed at a lower temperature than most places to bring out the perfect sweetness. I always ask for extra-hot and it’s still never hot enough. Artigiano has a “stronger” flavor, which I actually prefer to Vivace’s ultra smooth blend. These are very minor issues, though, and completely based on my peculiar taste.
I love them both for their passion for my favorite part of my day, staring out the window of a quaint cafe with an amazing cup of espresso.
Any other contenders for a coffee snob who visits Vancouver BC periodically?

yes. this is the best espresso in vancouver. hands down.
Although I have had decent espresso at Artigiano, more often I have had very sour espresso. Baristas put too much effort into foam design and not enough into a consistant pour. For the BEST espresso and pastry you have to go to Thomas Haas in N. Vancouver.
